1. Nature and Limitations of Virtual Care (Telehealth)

By participating in a virtual consultation through RestoreHealth, you acknowledge and agree that virtual care (telehealth) is fundamentally different from in-person medical care.

  • No Physical Examination: Because consultations take place via secure video and audio platforms, our specialists cannot conduct a physical examination, palpate tissue, check vitals manually, or listen to your heart and lungs.

  • Reliance on Provided Data: Our clinical assessments, diagnoses, and treatment plans rely heavily on the accuracy of the laboratory results (bloodwork) you provide, your self-reported medical history, and the symptoms you describe verbally.

  • In-Person Escalation: If at any point our specialists determine that your clinical situation is too complex for virtual management, or that an in-person physical assessment is required for your safety, we reserve the right to decline or suspend virtual services and direct you to seek in-person medical care from your primary care provider or local hospital.

2. Patient Responsibilities During Virtual Appointments

To maintain clinical safety, privacy, and compliance with Ontario healthcare standards, patients participating in virtual care must adhere to the following requirements:

  • Physical Location: You must be physically located within the province of Ontario at the very moment your virtual consultation takes place. Our physicians are legally restricted from providing care to individuals physically located outside of our licensing jurisdiction.

  • Private Environment: You are responsible for joining your virtual appointment from a private, quiet, and secure environment to protect your own personal health information and ensure you can clearly hear and understand the clinical instructions provided by your specialist.

  • Technology Requirements: You must utilize a secure, stable internet connection and a device equipped with a functioning camera and microphone. RestoreHealth is not liable for clinical delays or technical disruptions resulting from your internet service provider or device failure.

3. Electronic Communications Risk Acknowledgment

While RestoreHealth utilizes strictly encrypted, PHIPA-compliant platforms to conduct video consultations and store your Electronic Medical Records (EMR), no digital transmission is entirely without risk. By utilizing our platform, you accept the inherent security risks associated with electronic data transmission, including the potential for unauthorized interception or technical delivery failure outside of our network's controlled infrastructure.

4. Separate Boundary for Physical Treatment

This virtual care disclaimer reinforces that RestoreHealth provides digital specialist assessment, diagnostic verification, and electronic prescription transmission only.

  • No On-Site Monitoring: Our network does not physically supervise, monitor, or control the clinical environments of the independent community clinics where your intravenous (IV) iron therapy is physically administered.

  • Any complications, clinical monitoring requirements, or adverse events that occur during or immediately following your physical infusion are under the direct, exclusive medical care and liability of the on-site clinical team at that physical location.

5. Consent to Virtual Care

By scheduling an appointment, completing our digital intake documents, or logging into our virtual care platform, you formally acknowledge that you have read, understood, and voluntarily accept the terms, limitations, and risks outlined in this Virtual Care Disclaimer.
